Welcome to the Salamanders of Kentucky Home Page, sponsered by Western Kentucky University's Center for Biodiversity Studies. This page is designed to be a informational source about the Salamanders who inhabit the regions of Kentucky.

The different sections are designed to make it easier to locate the particular salamander(s) on the page, or to see which salamanders inhabit the regions around you (View by area). If you are not sure what the name of the salamander is that you are looking for but have seen it in nature, be sure to check out the View by thumbnail section, designed to view by images of 30 different salamanders. The View by habitat section will give you the option to search for salamanders in certain habitats, such as swamps, ponds, caves and other areas. The salamanders are also grouped by family and are viewable as such in the View by family section.
